The added bite of the ginger in this ginger beer mocktail makes this one extra special with the great flavors of winter with grapefruit juice!

While we love a good cocktail (hello, that’s what our site is based on!), there is something nice about having a non alcoholic mixed drink, as well. So, why not feature some of our favorite seasonal flavors in this one?

These types of drinks are always refreshing and often pair well with many different types of foods, which makes for a great winter cocktail party for sure! We are big fans of ginger, grapefruit, and bubbly drinks which is why we made this ginger beer mocktail.

What Ingredients are Needed for the Grapefruit Ginger Fizz?

Pink Ginger Beer Mocktail with mint and straw

Mocktails are and have been a big trend this year in restaurants and bars, and we want to include some variety into our drink rotation. We definitely will be experimenting with mocktails in 2020. Make sure to click that link to see all our non alcoholic cocktails!

We think it is best to seek out a high quality ginger beer for this mocktail. Many ginger beers are all sugar and contain little to no real ginger. Ginger beer should taste like freshly juiced ginger. Our favorite brand is Fever Tree, which makes an incredible natural ginger beer that is very low in sugar. (Win!)

Now, typically whenever we serve anything with grapefruit juice it’s with gin. And please feel free to add some to this great sip, but if you want to not have the extra calories, we get it! This ginger beer mocktail is a perfect mocktail to suit your non alcoholic needs.

What is a mocktail?

A non alcoholic mixed drink! Simple as that. It’s a drink that calls for a few ingredients that are mixed together, just like in a cocktail. Just no alcohol.

What is ginger beer?

A naturally sweetened, naturally fermented and carbonated beverage. This drink is considered non alcoholic because their alcohol content is so low. It is similar to kombucha with the fermenting.

What is the difference between ginger beer and ginger ale?

Ginger beer has been brewed and fermented, but has less carbonation than ginger ale. The ginger flavor stands out for sure, it’s stronger and spicier. Most ginger beers use fresh ginger root, sugar and yeast, along with other flavors to achieve their taste profile. Ginger ale is carbonated water flavored with ginger. It’s lighter in color and a lighter flavor.

Cheers!
