A great mix of muddled berries and tartness from the lemon, this Muddled Blackberry Gin cocktail is a perfect sipper!

Every now and then we have days where we have tons of activities on our plate, and when we finally get a chance to sit down and take a break, it is nice to have a cocktail to sip on while we relax. While we love a nice complicated cocktail, on those busy days having a simple cocktail recipe can be a real winner!

This simple blackberry gin cocktail combines freshly muddled blackberries with gin, fresh lemon and ginger beer to make a nice afternoon libation or a perfect compliment to a spicy meal.

Muddled Blackberry Gin Cocktail

We have been getting some fantastic blackberries recently, a wonderful combination of sweet, tart and juicy. With such juicy berries, we wanted a way to get that juice out of the berries while still keeping that sweet and tart characteristic, we decided to muddle the berries to release the juice and give the drink little sweet bits of fresh blackberry.

Pairing it up with a gin like Broker’s or Death’s Door makes the drink crisp and with just a hint of bitterness that balances out the sweetness of the berries.

What Ingredients do you Need for the Muddled Blackberry Gin Cocktail?

  • Gin
  • Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • Blackberries
  • Simple Syrup
  • Ginger Beer

A splash of fresh squeezed lemon juice, simple syrup and a fresh lemon twist garnish brings a bright burst of lemon which pulls out the citrus notes of the gin and pairs up with the blackberries well. Topping the drink with ginger beer give the drink a sparkling spicy edge.

As always cool! Guys, time for you to make an album of cocktails recipes (in print, with a good layout), and immediately sell it. Will scatter as a cold lemonade in the hot weather :)
