Mozart Chocolate Cream Liqueur

We used Mozart Chocolate Cream Liqueur in this Valentine cocktail. It rich and sweet, and adds just the right amount of chocolate to this decadent drink. The chocolate cream is a milk chocolate liqueur, and what is even better is that it is gluten free, made with natural ingredients and Belgian chocolate.

It has so much chocolate flavor with a dash of vanilla, and lends itself well to this decadent Valentine cocktail!

Do I Have to Use Vodka and Caramel Vodka?

Yes, we think so. We used both in this recipe along with the cherry liqueur and chocolate cream liqueur. Even though it is a small amount, the caramel vodka gives this drink its rich sweet flavor and we think it adds a lot of depth to the chocolate and cherry flavors.

Cherry Liqueur

We used the Schladerer Edelkirsch cherry liqueur. This is a great choice of liqueur, with a Schladerer brandy base, and because it has natural cherry juice, as well. It even has a bit of an almond note, so goes great with the Mozart Chocolate cream! There are other cherry liqueur choices, just made sure to go with a dark colored one that has a lot of flavor to add to this cocktail.

What are Brandied Cherries?

If you haven’t made our homemade brandied cherries, Luxardo Cherries are the way to go. They are cherries that are soaked in a thick Marasca cherry syrup. The dark red color is natural and they are a stunning addition to any cocktail. These are a great way to top a chocolate cherry cocktail.

So, we use them a lot in our favorite whiskey cocktails. But, we love to add them to a Whiskey Sour or this Pineapple Express.

Other Garnish Ideas for this Valentine Cocktail

Here are some more great ideas on how to finish garnishing this tasty chocolate cherry cocktail. Here are three ways to garnish:

  1. Brandied cherries on a skewer and place on the glass. (we talk about this above)
  2. Rim the edge of the glass with chocolate syrup (makes it sweeter), or cocoa powder (makes it less sweet and bitter).
  3. Chocolate curls on top of drink.

There isn’t a wrong choice, you just have to decide what you and your sweetheart like best!
