We were super inspired by the Basil Gimlet, and since we had fresh strawberries, we were inspired to combine the 2!

Strawberry Basil Gimlet

This strawberry basil gin cocktail has earthy basil, strawberries, tart lime juice, and we used a London Dry gin. So simple and delicious, this one is a winner! Try our Lilac Gimlet, too!

It’s definitely a crisp and fresh Strawberry Basil Gin Cocktail, and it will be the perfect drink to sit back and relax with on a hot summer day.

As far as summer cocktails go, we are always searching for ways to incorporate fresh fruit and herbs into our drinks. I suppose it makes us feel more like summer if what we are drinking tastes like it really goes with the season!

When both ingredients are in season, we really love to pair them together. To pair with the sweetness of strawberries and the tartness of a gimlet, we wanted something to balance the drink out. Another great balanced cocktail is the classic French 75!

Basil is one of the favorite herbs we grow and use fresh (pesto on repeat over here!), and just a few leaves in the simple syrup add a nice herbal note that plays nicely with the strawberries.

We made a simple, simple syrup, (Ha, see what I did there?) with the berries and basil. We cooked the berries in the water and sugar over the stove, and then after pulling the pot off of the heat, we added the basil and let it infuse while it cooled down, about 15 minutes.

Again, this strawberry basil gin cocktail is so easy to make. And it’s so delicious. And summery AF.

Cheers!
