A brand new Mixologist Monday for you! Featuring Carolyn Pascual White from The Social Sipper in this weeks post!

Now, we will turn it over to Carolyn to tell you about herself and her cocktail journey! Cheers!

Tell us about yourself! How did you get into cocktails?

I’m the San Diego based home-mixologist behind The Social Sipper! I’ve always been a cocktail lover but despite having “Social” in the name, I’m actually a bit of a homebody. I got into making cocktails because I wanted to enjoy the experience of a fancy cocktail in the comfort of my own home.

I began creating fresh and simple cocktails using produce and other ingredients that could be found at the grocery store. Coming from a career as a food stylist, I always pay a lot of attention to Insta-worthy presentation and beautiful garnishes. I quickly became the go-to cocktail person among my friends, which inspired me to begin sharing my creations online.

I started The Social Sipper with my husband Travis, in 2018 as a way to inspire others to make cocktails at home.

Top 3 favorite cocktails

  • Aperol Spritz
  • Gimlet
  • A Good Sour – gin, whiskey… I like them all!

How do you come up with drinks? What is your inspiration?

I usually start with a classic cocktail and put a twist on it. My inspiration comes from seasonal produce, travel, flavor combinations used in food and scrolling Instagram!

Tell us one fun/interesting or weird fact about yourself

I’m one of those people that think cilantro tastes like soap. And I actually never even really experienced cilantro when I grew up on the East Coast so I had no idea until I moved to California at 24.

If you could have a drink with anyone in the world who would it be?

I wish I had a super intellectual answer but I would really want to have a drink with the characters from The Office (not the cast, the actual characters). The Office is pretty much on repeat at our house so I feel like I already know them and they bring me so much happiness. I know I’m cheating…

Tell us 3 Instagrams or blogs that you love to follow

I love so many but these are a few of my favorites –
