Tell us about yourself! How did you get into cocktails?
Originally from South Africa, I live in the UK with my husband and 3 young children which includes a set of twins. Life as a mom of 3 is plain nuts, never a dull moment! Having previously worked in the corporate world, I studied courses at night whilst the kids were asleep to try keep the brain matter ticking over.
One of the challenges I was given in one of my courses was to create a profile on a social media platform I wasn’t already on. One of my passions is travel but with 3 kids, that doesn’t happen enough for a blog so a passion for gin was a start. I have always loved entertaining and am a bit of a foodie so as I got to know the different craft gins and their botanicals, I started playing with ingredients to create cocktails using the classics for guidance.
I then started trying other spirits and am really enjoying the journey more and more. Its a creative outlet for me and a way to showcase some amazing distillers and producers.
Top 3 favorite cocktails
- Espresso Martini
- Margarita
- Negroni
How do you come up with drinks? What is your inspiration?
I get inspiration from the spirits available, cuisines and fellow cocktail creators on Instagram. Often the botanicals or tasting notes will start the process, I will then think of the classics and flavour combinations that compliment each other.
Before lockdown it would be simple things like shopping or going to a bar. Now its the wonderful world of Instagram and all the talented people on it.
Tell us one fun/interesting or weird fact about yourself
I have super long legs, in fact not even Levi’s cater for my length of leg. Literally occupies two thirds of my body so when I am standing I am near 6 feet tall. When I sit down, my 8 year old daughter is almost taller than me!!
If you could have a drink with anyone in the world who would it be?
My Ladies That Mix group who are based around the world, a meet up with them in the bar would be one for the memory books.

Espresso S’More-Tini
50ml vodka infused with oat biscuits
25ml coffee liqueur
25ml cooled vanilla espresso coffee
15ml homemade toasted coconut syrup
Shake in a shaker with ice. Strain into a coupe.
Topped with meringue style foam, torch the top.
