Basil is one our favorites! Basil has a peppery flavor could not be more perfect in cocktail recipes. In this gimlet, it pairs nicely with the botanical essence of gin . A basil gimlet is a drink made of lime juice, gin and basil simple syrup. Truly the perfect summer drink!

Gin Gimlet

A gin gimlet is a classic cocktail. Make sure to check our bit of history in this other gimlet post, the Rhubarb Gimlet! However it came to be, the gimlet has now solidified itself in history as one of the great gin cocktails.

You can make all sorts of flavors of gimlets by adding whatever you choose: an herb, citrus, or berry. It’s really a blank slate and can become any flavor you would like! We have a LOT of gimlets on the site – clearly you all love them too!

Adding basil to this gimlet really rounds out the flavors. And if you add a splash of soda water, it becomes a gin fizz! Easy for sure!

The flavors of basil and lime are really are so good together. So, this is another winning cocktail in our book!

Make sure to garnish with some fresh basil, too! Makes it look pretty, but the extra basil aroma when you take a sip makes for a perfect drink! Try our Lilac Gimlet, too!

Cheers!
