Tropical Rum Punch – A Rum Cocktail

A tropical Rum Punch cocktail makes a great drink!

Need a pick me up for these cold winter days? We have the cocktail for you, then!

Around the holidays our schedule always seems to be one big crazy tangle of activities, from holiday concerts for the kids, hanging decorations and shopping for gifts, but somehow we manage to find a way to get it all done. The other day we had an especially busy day and thankfully Mrs. Nom is super organized and had her ever present to do list to keep us on track, crossing off those items until there was just one last thing on the list, relax!

Some days you just need to celebrate an accomplishment and what is a better way to celebrate than by sitting back and relaxing with a nice cocktail like our Tropical Rum Punch?

A tropical cocktail like our Tropical Rum Punch might be thought of as a summery cocktail, but why not bring a little bit of that warm sunny tropical feel to the chase away the chill from those cold hikes across a parking lot in winter by having a fun tropical drink full of bright citrus? One easy way to go and get a really great citrus flavor without adding a huge amount of stuff to your to do list (buying fruit, cutting fruit, juicing fruit) is to reach for some great Tropicana Pineapple Mango with Lime Premium Juice!

When we think of a tropical location, you always think about great tropical fruit flavors like pineapple and mangoes and lots of great citrus. Sweet and tangy, the flavors are deliciously bright and bring that feeling of the tropics right to your home! However juicing a pineapple or a mango is not a simple task, especially when compared with just grabbing a bottle the next time you are at the grocery store!

This is where Tropicana and their Tropicana Pineapple Mango with Lime comes in by doing all the hard work and and bottling up all the delicious tropical flavor for you in a bottle with no artificial flavors or sweeteners, just pure delicious juice! This pineapple juice tastes really great with out that metallic flavor that canned pineapple juices can get.

Add in the mango and its smooth slightly sour juice and you can see why Tropicana loved this combination! Why not just open a bottle and enjoy all those great tropical flavors with one easy twist?

We love a good rum punch, and having a great blend of flavors like pineapple, mango and lime juice to mix some rum with makes for an easy delicious cocktail! The great thing is that this recipe could easily be scaled from a single cocktail like we have here to a big punch bowl that you can share with all your friends!

Rum is a great spirit for use in anything tropical as the best ones come from tropical climates where lots of sugar cane is grown, right near fruit like pineapples and mangoes!

Rum, pineapple and mangoes are a match made in heaven and when you mix a great tasting product like Tropicana Pineapple Mango with Lime with some good aged rum, you are already on your way to a great cocktail! Add in a little orange liqueur and bitters for a little spice and this cocktail is a great sipper!

But for just a little bit more of a festive edge, we topped our cocktail with a splash of champagne to add an effervescent lightness to the Tropical Rum Punch!

The Tropical Rum Punch is a delicious combination of sweet and tangy, with a hint of spice from the bitters and caramel sweetness from the rum. The combination of pineapple and mango juice adds a complex tropical flavor that is different from your typical tropical drink making this a cocktail that you want to sit back with and relax!

Perfect for a party or celebrating the little daily victories like getting all the things crossed off of your to do list!

Cheers!

  1. I love the tropical feel of this cocktail to bring some sunshine to the wintery holiday season! Especially with that slash of champagne. So festive! What a great idea to make a large punch bowl of this for a party. I’ll have to look for Tropicana’s Pineapple Mango Juice with Lime. It sounds great!

  2. I could use some tropical in my life right now! Nothing like a drink like this to brighten the mood during this stressful time of year!

  3. As a South Florida resident, I know a little about the tropics — and have several really good dark rums from the islands in my liquor cabinet, so I’m ready for this cocktail. Incidentally, the best rum comes from Martinique where the island is teeming with distilleries — they all produce rhum agricole which is certified because it’s made to exacting standards from pure sugar cane — not the molasses like typical rums are. Those distilleries are fun places to tour, too!

  4. I actually love all things citrus during the winter! It brings brightness to the darker days! And Tropicana makes the best juices – they taste so fresh and yummy always!

  5. Absolutely! Bring the sunshine in with a tropical cocktail right in the middle of the cold season! Life is so chaotic during the holidays that I know for sure I can use one of these! Love the color and the splash of champagne makes it super festive! Great for a holiday party!

  6. Oh, I haven’t seen this particular kind of juice in my local stores but it sounds delicious. Mango and Pineapple? Sign me up. I totally agree that we need a bit of tropical sunshine in the middle of a very cold winter. No need to wait for the summer to enjoy it. And all the healthy vitamins are good now. The drink sounds delicious!
