A Tart and Herbal version of a Moscow Mule, this Grapefruit Moscow Mule is great for anytime of year!
A crisp refreshing Moscow Mule is delightful drink! It’s a pleasing combination of sweet, tart and fizzy, which is why Moscow Mules are some of our favorites. We are always looking for new variations to make, and with rosemary from our garden and some fresh grapefruit we had a great pairing! We figured that a Rosemary Grapefruit Moscow Mule would be just the thing to dress up a plain Moscow Mule as a citrus and rosemary cocktail!

Grapefruit Moscow Mule
One of our favorite herbs to use in cooking and in cocktails is rosemary. We always have rosemary simple syrup in our fridge, dried rosemary in our spice cabinet and even rosemary growing in our herb garden! Rosemary has a great cool, almost evergreen flavor which pairs up really well with citrus flavors, which means rosemary is definitely a star in cocktails, too.
For this cocktail, we used our rosemary simple syrup to add a fresh sweet rosemary flavor. The rosemary simple syrup is one of our standards, and we like using it in drinks where we want a cooling herbal flavor like our Rosemary’s Pear cocktail.
Fresh grapefruit is another fantastic ingredient to use in cocktails. Grapefruit and rosemary is a delicious combination. The sweet tart and slightly bitter grapefruit brings out the cool herbal flavors and perfume of the rosemary. Add in the spicy warming note of ginger beer and you get a melding of flavors that play across your tongue, each sip a delightful refreshing burst of flavor.
We kept a splash of fresh lime in there to add a bit of acid brightness, plus traditionally a mule has to have a little lime in it! We used a smooth drinking local vodka made from American grains as well as the grapefruit and rosemary flavors don’t need any other help to be bold and delicious.
Garnish with a grapefruit wedge, Crystallized Ginger and a sprig of fresh rosemary and this Moscow Mule is sure to be a hit! If you think this Rosemary Grapefruit Moscow Mule sounds great, check out some of our other Moscow Mules, we have tons of them that are fantastic!
