Pumpkin Ice Cream Float

This dessert cocktail is creamy, rich and has the great fall pumpkin flavor for the pumpkin obsessed of you! We added bourbon to this float to give it a bit of punch, but also more fall flavor. The bourbon also cuts back the sweetness a little.

Between the creamy melting pumpkin ice cream, the crisp, bubbly hard cider, bite of the bourbon and dash of chocolate bitters, this is the perfect fall treat!

Making the Boozy Float

First you add a few scoops to a glass,  (we used a rocks glass, but stemless wine glasses work too) we didn’t measure the ice cream, and I am sure you won’t either! The softer the ice cream is makes it easier to scoop, but it also melts a lot quicker. So we used it right out of the freezer, even though it was a little hard, but we didn’t want it to melt too fast.

Pour in the bourbon and dashes of chocolate bitters. Then, top with the hard apple cider. Feel free to play around with the amounts of ingredients, it needs to serve your flavor profile!

Pumpkin Float

We have made floats before, a Blueberry Mint Sorbet Wine Float, but not like this great Pumpkin Ice Cream Float.  This one is on a whole new level! This float is a refreshing cocktail when you want that fall pumpkin flavor without jumping right into warm winter drinks.

All you hard cider and pumpkin lovers go ahead and give this a try!
