Healdsburg, California is a favorite vacation locale for us, especially while wine tasting. A great location in Sonoma Valley, a Healdsburg, California hotel is a great option and they have some great options for you from luxury, boutique and bed and breakfasts!

Located in the northern part of Sonoma County, Healdsburg offers great wine, tasty restaurants, a charming plaza in the heart of town, and boutique shopping options too. Surrounded by world class wineries and gorgeous scenery in Sonoma Valley and surrounding AVA’s, most of the hotels around Healdsburg are well located and have the added convenience of being able to walk most places around town.

Great options for Healdsburg, California Hotels and Restaurants

Healdsburg boasts farmers’ markets, farm to table restaurants and cool cafés, so you will always be able to find something tasty to eat! Expect plenty of tasting rooms that are open, but reservations are encouraged, especially now. Weekend lunch times are popular with visitors from San Francisco.

Healdsburg Plaza is a great place for people watching with your cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Many tasting rooms are around the plaza, and around town, so enjoy the time you can spend outside wile day drinking! But, a lot of the wineries to go tasting at are located out of town, so keep that in mind  – some of the best we have found are on Dry Creek Road and Westside Road.

We stayed on a winery, Thomas George a few years ago, so make sure to read about our stay and wine safari on the property! Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley and Dry Creek Valley are located nearby, too!

Many of the best stays at a Healdsburg, California hotel are smaller inns or B & B’s, but there are some modern and swanky hotels, too! There are also romantic spaces for couples.

Healdsburg being located at the northern end of Sonoma Valley, it’s easy to drive east over to Napa and try some of those vineyards, too! And it’s easy to head south to Sonoma, too, so make sure to stop in at Gloria Ferrer Vineyard!

Make sure to eat at The Matheson Restaurant in Healdsburg, too!
