A classic British drink, the Pimm’s Cup Cocktail is a perfect spring and summer tipple!
You might have noticed that we are obsessed with gin. Had anyone told us this 4 years ago before we really became focused on cocktails we would have laughed at you. As we discussed in our post on the Cherry Ginger Smash, gin has gone through a renaissance and it no longer is the Pine-Sol bomb in your glass, but rather a nuanced spirit that can inspire the same sorts of discussion as many fine wines.
After having discovered all kinds of delicious varieties of gin, these days we find ourselves finding new gin based cocktails that we can share with our readers, both original creations and classics. Our next cocktail is is a classic gin based cocktail from England, The Pimm’s Cup.

Pimm’s starts out using gin as its base, then additional herbs and spices are added to create its unique flavor. Usually served British Style with carbonated lemonade, we went with the classic recipe recommended by Pimm’s, making it very much like a better version of an Arnold Palmer. This drink might be one of our go to drinks by the pool as it is a great sipping drink!

Bitter herbs and citrus. It is gin based – a dry gin, liqueur, fruit juice and spices. It is “fruit cup” like. And, it was created by English Oyster Bar owner James Pimm in 1859 in London, the recipe is a secret!
