Non-Alcoholic Smoky Cocktail Recipe

Last Updated on September 11, 2025 by Leah Hall

A lovely and light Smoky Mocktail, perfect for those that love a smoky Scotch cocktail without the alcohol!

We love a good Scotch whisky cocktail (have you seen all our posts about Scotland?) but sometimes want the flavor of whisky but not the alcohol. We love the smokiness of Lapsang Souchong tea, and wanted to try it in the place of whisky in this cocktail. And it worked, so well!

This fun drink doesn’t require many ingredients, just 5. The Lapsang Souchong tea adds the smoky flavor we look for, and fresh lime juice added to the complex flavor profiles. Maple syrup adds a touch of sweetness, and makes for a great fall non-alcoholic drink.

To these basic ingredients we added a dash of salt and pepper, as well as some aquafaba. This makes for a great sour with a little body. Simply combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with some ice cubes, shake and strain!

Tips & Tricks

  • Glassware – you can serve this over ice in a rocks glass, or up in a cocktail coupe. Both are tasty!
  • Garnish – lime wedges or lime wheels are the perfect choice if you are garnishing. But, we left it un-garnished.
