Apple Cider Margarita – Fall Margarita

Last Updated on June 8, 2023 by Leah Hall

This fall margarita is a great flavor combo of spicy triple sec and apple cider!

We wanted to make a margarita for fall, and we wanted to make sure to have some of the flavors that are relevant in autumn! In our cocktail garden, we have an abundance of rosemary, and we know it goes so well with apple cider.

What Makes a Fall Margarita?

To bring out the apple cider flavors, we added in some ginger for some spice and more of the fall flavor. To make the margarita even better we infused some triple sec with jalapeno!

We added in 3 slices of jalapeno with 1/2 cup of triple sec and let it infuse for at least 4 hours. This seemed to give a great underlying spice to the sweetness of the triple sec. As we knew that the apple cider would give a sweet aspect to the drink, we definitely didn’t want to go too sweet on the other ingredients.

What Ingredients are in the Apple Cider Margarita?

  • Blanco Tequila
  • Jalapeno Infused Triple Sec (more info below!)
  • Lime Juice
  • Apple Cider, Ginger and Rosemary Simple Syrup (more info below!)

We knew we wanted to use a light blanco tequila, as we wanted the flavors of the simple syrup to stand out, and make it a fall margarita. The simple syrup was a great starting point for those flavors, and we split the sweetness between the cider and sugar, a half and half split between them with water.

We added in slices of fresh ginger root and brought the mixture to a boil, then removed from heat and added in the rosemary. This gave a light flavor with the added herb and made for a great flavor mixture of apple, rosemary and ginger.

How to Garnish the Fall Margarita?

All combined in a shaker with ice, this margarita on the rocks is a tasty sipper for fall, or even for those warm late summer days! Make sure to add salt to the rim, or even add a little cinnamon to the salt if you would like even more fall flavor. Add in a rosemary sprig for that great smell!
