Alcoholic Popsicles? Oh yes we did make icepops!

Everyone loves a good popsicle on a hot summer day, cool, sweet and tart and definitely refreshing. What might make a popsicle even better? How about a pair of popsicles with a little adult twist!? With the end of summer quickly approaching, we decided we finally had to have that adult pool party that we had all been too busy to actually schedule, so at the last minute, we invited our friends over for a little dip!

Icepops

Of course no party at our house would be complete with out some delicious treats, so Mrs. Nom set out to make a couple of alcoholic popsicles, a Jasmine Lemonade Gin Icepop and a Cherry Limeade Vodka Icepop.

The Jasmine Lemonade Gin Pop has tart lemonade, gin and a little jasmine syrup to make a refreshingly tart treat. Lemonade always hits the spot on a hot day, the combination of sweet and tart a great way to beat the heat. Gin is a natural partner for lemonade, the citrus notes and herbal flavors giving the lemonade a crisp finish.

We used some Jasmine Syrup from Amoretti Syrups to add add a floral sweetness. The Jasmine Lemonade Gin alcoholic popsicles were like a cocktail in popsicle form!

The Cherry Limeade Vodka Icepop is our take on a popular summer time classic, the Cherry Limeade. This recipe uses Amoretti’s Kirsch syrup, which is a delicious cherry brandy flavored syrup that adds a rich cherry sweetness to a crisp tart limeade. The kirsch syrup gave this a sophisticated cherry sweetness, not the sickly sweet artificial cherry flavor that your typical cherry popsicle has.

Adding in a dash of vodka gives this a nice adult twist, which makes this Cherry Limeade Vodka Pop a great way to beat the summer heat!
