Sponsored Post: We were invited to attend this event for free, but opinions are 100% our own.
We all like to dream about traveling, thinking about the fun adventures we could have, exploring new locations or discovering an incredible restaurant where you make memories that can last a lifetime. Taking a trip can help refresh us from the daily grind, inspiring us to find something new about ourselves and have an experience that will excite us. What if you could find a place that let you live a bit of that dream? The folks at Travel and Transport, located here in Omaha, have launched a new concept, the Travel Design Lounge, to try to give dreamers a place to go and try wine and cuisine from great travel destinations and when inspiration strikes, make that dream into a reality.
For us, food is a major part of how we travel, often times planning our trip about where we can go and find something amazing to eat! Naturally when we were invited to attend a special blogger event to get a sneak peak at this new concept we were very excited as this concept combines two of our passions. Located in the shops at Legacy, Travel Design Lounge offers a comfortable modern space where you can go get a taste of of some travel destinations. Offering specialty coffees, teas, wines, craft beers and spirits from selected regions along with some appetizers, visitors can experience some of the cuisine that makes each destination a big part of the travel dream. To provide further inspiration large screens are sprinkled about the space showing beautiful pictures from all over the world, helping to paint a picture of what a well planned trip could be. To help make that travel dream possible when inspiration hits, advisers are on hand to help plan a trip or give some advice.
Travel Design Lounge’s menu combines the best of a wine bar and a coffeehouse, making the Lounge a nice place to go in and plan your experience or settle in for a nice quiet time to work in a nice comfortable environment. Wines from popular vacation destinations such as the Napa Valley, Italy, France, Argentina and New Zealand can help set the mood, or if you are in the mood for something a little stronger, you can order from the well stocked spirits selection. If you happen to need a nibble to go along with your drink, Travel Design Lounge serves a number of classic wine bar style small plates from cheese boards and charcuterie plates to hummus and artichoke dips.
If you are more into a caffeinated coffeehouse sort of experience, the Lounge also offers a coffee selection ranging from americanos and espressos to mochas. They also have a number of fresh hot and iced teas. To go along with the coffee, fresh scones and muffins as well as quinoa quiche and breakfast burritos. Assistant manager Ashley Petersen also mentioned that some desserts were in the works, especially as the menu hasn’t fully been finalized. She also mentioned that they are planning on rotating the menu seasonally to bring items from some of the popular seasonal travel destinations. We especially were intrigued hearing some of the events that they plan on holding, events such as representatives from Napa resorts or having an Italian chef in to do a cooking demonstration of true Italian cuisine. Exciting events like these and their rotating menu promise to keep this space fresh and innovative.
The space is well designed, offering ample seating nooks that work well for relaxing with a glass of wine or collaborating with a group of friends about a trip. Travel Design Lounge has customized over sized touch screen tablets that serve as menus, travel planners, and photo viewers. These tablets not only look sharp showing the captivating travel images, but when combined with the knowledgeable experts that staff the space, they become a powerful tool for planning out your dream trip. Harnessing the network of travel specialists and the resources of Travel and Transport, individuals or groups can easily plan a unique travel experience. The intent for Travel Design Lounge is to be a different experience than your typical travel agency, offering a relaxed setting where guests have the opportunity to collaborate, create and connect to explore the world of vacation travel.
Travel Design Lounge will be holding a grand opening celebration on October 22. We hope anyone who is dreaming of traveling will go check out this new location, especially anyone who is wanting to travel with friends, as we think this would be a fantastic way to plan out a group trip, especially as the planning can now become a fun activity as well! Give Travel Design Lounge a shot and perhaps you can embrace their motto and “Get Tripsy!” By writing this blog post, we are entered to win free round-trip tickets, and let’s face it, it’s been over a year since we have had a vacation that necessitated a plane ride! We want to “Get Tripsy”, too!
